FROM VISION TO VOICE: WHY WE STARTED MOLLY HOUSE MEDIA
In a world saturated with content, truly authentic queer storytelling is still surprisingly rare. That’s the gap we set out to close when we founded Molly House Media, a queer media agency built on the belief that our stories deserve depth, nuance, and visibility.
Molly House Media began as a vision: to create a space where queer voices aren’t filtered, diluted, or reshaped to fit mainstream expectations. We were inspired by the history of molly houses, underground spaces where queer people gathered, expressed themselves freely, and built community in the face of exclusion. That spirit of resistance, creativity, and connection sits at the heart of everything we do.
As a queer media agency, we saw firsthand how often LGBTQ+ stories were treated as trends rather than lived realities. Campaigns would appear during Pride month, only to disappear just as quickly. Representation was often surface-level, polished and marketable, but lacking the honesty and complexity that real lives hold. We wanted to change that.

Our Approach to Storytelling
From the beginning, our goal has been to move beyond tokenism and create work that feels real, intentional, and lasting. Whether we’re producing podcasts, short films, or branded content, we focus on storytelling that reflects the full spectrum of queer experiences across identity, culture, class, and community. We believe that queer stories shouldn’t be simplified to be understood; they should be told fully, with care and creative integrity.
But Molly House Media isn’t just about content. It’s about collaboration and community. We work with brands, organisations, and creatives who want to engage with LGBTQ+ audiences in a meaningful way, not as a checkbox, but as a commitment. As a queer media agency, we act as both storytellers and cultural translators, helping ensure that queer narratives are handled with care, authenticity, and intention.
We are dedicated to telling authentic stories that celebrate and amplify LGBTQ+ voices.
Preserving Queer Stories
There’s also a deeper purpose behind what we do. Queer storytelling has always been a form of preservation, a way to document lives, challenge norms, and imagine new futures. For generations, our stories have been hidden, erased, or rewritten. At Molly House Media, we see every project as part of a wider cultural archive, something that contributes to visibility, legacy, and change.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, our ambition is simple: to amplify more voices, tell more stories, and continue building a platform where queer creativity can thrive. From emerging creators to established talent, we want Molly House Media to be a space where ideas turn into impact, and where collaboration leads to something meaningful.
This is more than a media company. It’s a creative home, a platform, and a movement rooted in history, driven by community, and focused on the future.
And we’re just getting started.
